Jan joined ORPHAN HATE in 2002, the same year in which he founded his concert
and promotion agency which has been taking care of the bands booking and
business issues ever since. Jan’s favorite bass players come from rather outside the
metal world: MARCUS MILLER, JACO PASTORIUS, VICTOR WOOTEN, WAYNE KRANTZ,
JOHN PATITUCCI, RICHARD BONA and JOHN MYUNG.

Within the metal genre he is interested in bands like KATATONIA, AMORPHIS, ULVER, CRADLE OF FILTH and the more progressive sounds of OPETH and DISILLUSION.

Before the recordings of ORPHAN HATE’s “Attitude & Consequences” he has changed
his gear entirely to be able to support the band’s new sound. He now plays a
Musicman Stingray 5 bass, a TECH21 Sans amp and a Hartke 5500 amp combined
with a SWR Box Goliath 3.
